American Idol Season 9’s Top 12 Finalists

American Idol unveiled its twelve finalists last night, with a last round of four eliminations that TIME Magazine calls “questionable” and “insane.”

The four contestants who missed the cut were Todrick Hall, Katelyn Epperly, Lilly Scott and Alex Lambert. Todrick and Katelyn’s exit were kinda expected but the elimination of Lilly and Alex shocked Idol fans and critics. Many believed both Lilly and Alex were strong contenders for the title since they have something new to offer but now they’re gone.

But the show must go on. Here are your Final 12 America (and the rest of the world):
